  • November 18 2009 - New/Old Rolleicord Dismal Weather

    Nothing new today -
Had planned to wander out with the dog and the Rollei but the weather is dismal...

I have been wandering around my house though, looking at everything and anything through the view finder..this has been compensation for the inability to actually go outside and shoot.

So...I've discovered the joy of darkroom equipment hunting.
About 20 steps ahead of myself here, but it's never too soon to start getting a list of goods and prices together is it?

Anyone out there have any suggestions about the best equipment?
If so please let me know would you?

    All the best

  • November 17 2009 - New/Old Rolleicord Arrived

So....the first of the 2 new/old Rolleicords arrived today -

I was careful unpacking it...held it, rolled it around in my hand and then panicked!
What was I thinking? Had a lost my mind?!?! How could the eye, my eye, that stares at code all day and reviews project plans even begin to think there was a sliver of hope that I'd see something beautiful in anything outside of my office.
Then I posted on APUG and holy hannigan I had encouragement out the wazooooooo!
Loads of advice, help, instruction...and mainly 'JUST USE THE BLEEDIN' CAMERA! YOU CAN'T BREAK IT!' with grins after.

So I snapped 4 shots - of nothing basically.
    And you know what?
The beauty isn't in the print - it's looking through the top of that Rollei
I fell in love with it...moved it, shifted the focus...I smiled.
I relaxed...I really am in love with it. (feel sorry for my husband HA HA HA!)

I'll be going out tomorrow with my dog 'Sam' and the camera -
Taking more pictures of absolutely nothing at all

As a side note and more formal, I've ordered some Ilford 120 film black and white today.
Found a good site http://www.secondhanddarkroom.co.uk/ loads of Ilford bits and bobs at reasonable prices

  • November 15 2009 - New/Old Rolleicord

So this is the display case for the pictures I'll be snapping with my New/Old Rolleicord

With the highest of hopes I can only dream that people will critique my pictures fairly and honestly.

But the primary objective of the blog is to create an open dialect and gathering page for questions, idea sharing and the sharing of photo's taken with any type of Rolleicord or Rolleiflex -

So wish me luck! The camera's (yes I splashed out for two; one for me one for my far more artistic husband) will be here soon and I hope to have some photo's up within the next couple of weeks

Am looking for subject matter idea - Keep in mind these are going to be stills or portraits.

Oh yes! One more thing.....I plan to get into developing and printing...thanks to Jason Bruner Utah USA. Flaky and Fab! Bless him!

    Thanks!
    JB
